Last week, W.E. O’Neil Construction Company of Colorado, in conjunction with ai Design Group and owner Sonic Automotive Inc.  broke ground on the new Mercedes-Benz of Denver dealership location at 940 S. Colorado Boulevard in Glendale. The site, which is centrally located near Denver and Cherry Creek, will soon be home to a two-story, 93,464 sq. ft. comprehensive vehicle repair and sales facility complete with a third-story car display mezzanine.

Steve O’Kane, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz of Denver, is focused on the future. “We’re proud of what we’re building here in Denver. When the project is complete, we will be the flagship Mercedes-Benz store in the Denver area; it will be a spectacular facility with over 30 new Mercedes-Benz models showcased in our climate-controlled showroom. That’s sure to please our customers,” O’Kane said. “Beyond that, we’re doubling our service department, which adds numerous jobs and benefits the community.”

The groundbreaking initiated the demolition of an existing structure and the beginning of additional site work in preparation for a new high-end Mercedes-Benz dealership, which will offer a variety of services beyond retail sales. It is slated to have a sales floor, reception and waiting area, individual offices, and maintenance bays. A car-sized elevator will also be constructed to transport vehicles to and from the third-floor display mezzanine.

W.E. O’Neil recently constructed an EchoPark dealership for Sonic Automotive in Highlands Ranch earlier this year. “Having worked with Sonic in the past, it is clear they share W.E. O’Neil’s values and service standards,” said Todd Guthrie, President of W.E. O’Neil Construction Company of Colorado. “We’re thrilled to be working with the Sonic Automotive team again to bring Mercedes-Benz of Denver’s new home to life.”

The W.E. O’Neil team assigned to Mercedes-Benz of Denver are project manager Brad Benefield, superintendent Mark Holtmann, and project engineer Beth Mikon. “This job gives us a chance to expand our relationship with a great client and prove our consistent service as an organization. I look forward to providing Sonic Automotive with another beautiful, customer oriented dealership they’re proud of,” Brad stated.
